Turn idle savings into productive capital
Members pool resources so capital can support productive borrowing and future investments within an accountable structure.
Since 27 March 2017, Vision Finance Group has brought members together around a long-term approach to financial growth and mutual economic support.
Vision Finance Group (VFG) is a member-driven financial initiative established in Malawi to help committed individuals strengthen savings, access responsible credit and learn from one another. The Group was previously known as Vision Finance Corporate (VFC); the current name, Vision Finance Group, better reflects its member-led structure. Historical records and the existing FDH bank account may still display the former name. While the Group shares some principles with community savings models, its defining feature is continuity: savings are designed to remain in the fund rather than being routinely shared out at the end of each year.
This approach allows capital to stay productive. Member balances remain individually attributable, while the VFG Group-owned fund also builds institutional capital through approved fees and the Group’s share of loan interest, creating a foundation for future collective investment.
Vision Finance is deliberately member-led. Savings create the lending base; borrowing creates opportunities; interest actually received creates benefits for the borrower, other eligible members and the VFG Group-owned fund; and the institutional share helps build capital for future investment.
That cycle is supported by records, meeting decisions and shared accountability.
